Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, from Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she placed second in the 200 meter sprint in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed a sports contract with Adidas. She later attended college at the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. The first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics at Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by taking 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion in the 200-meter event. She was able to defend the title at the 2007 World Championships, winning over her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She often finished at the top of the podium in all events.
